Fade Valorant - Fan 2D Animation Complete Process

I’ve been working on this little Fade animation in my spare time, and it’s finally done!

The idea came to me after working on a Valorant project, and I really wanted to create something of my own inspired by that universe. It was also a great opportunity to practice different parts of the animation pipeline, from planning the layouts all the way to the final compositing.

Looking at it now, I can already see plenty of things I would do differently or improve. But instead of tweaking this animation forever, I decided it was time to let it go and move on. I think the best way to improve is to take those lessons into the next project.

The entire animation was created in Toon Boom Harmony, from layout to compositing. The only part done outside Harmony was the glitch effect at the end, which I added in After Effects.

For my next personal animations, I want to experiment with doing everything in Clip Studio and try out some new ideas.

I’m really happy with how it turned out!

A huge thank you to @victortchaba for all the helpful feedback during the early planning stages, especially with defining the lighting, shadows, and other visual details. I really appreciate all the help! 💙
